So proud of my staff and wonderful chef and thanks to Carey Sweet for writing such a nice review of our Gypsy Cafe. We try to please, and are so glad to be in such a sweet town as Sebastopol.
Mardi Gras Gypsy Style
Friday Night the 24th is our Gypsy Cafe Mardi Gras Dinner. I remember having the best Shrimp and beans and rice in Puerto Rico at the little beach stand in this photo. This woman could cook.
We will be serving Jambalaya w/ Andouille Sausage, Shrimp and Chicken as well as Blackened Local Rock Cod. Karen Joy Brown and Dave Silva will be filling the house with music. And there will be our house Beignets
Gypsy Cafe sessions cocktails
Gypsy Cafe Friday Dinners are getting even better with a small selection of session cocktails being added to the dinner menu. Low alcohol cocktails are all the rage these days with good health and local ingredients leading the charge. We are making our own, vinegar fruit shrubs to add to sparkling wine or japanese vodkas. We are also adding ports to our wine list. So if you want a special cocktail with out the worry about drinking too much hard alcohol, try one of our new cocktails some Friday evening. Cheers
Nothing better than New Mexico chiles
Heading to New Mexico to get my favorite chiles and chile powders to add to our Gypsy Spice cabinet. There is nothing better than a little roasted green Chimayo chile powder in aioli on fresh salmon. I buy in bulk and keep my friends supplied with these sacred spices to add to chowders and southwestern dishes.
